Katie Parquet lives in Marin County, California. She has studied art and photography for many years, but has tended toward the latter because of the freedom of expression and the freedom to roam the world that that gives gives her. She attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and the California College of the Arts, but has found the more intimate and focused photography workshop to be more to her liking and contributing to her growth. She has studied under John Paul Caponigro, Brigitte Carnochan, Elizabeth Opalenik, Frans Lanting, Joyce Tenneson and Jock Sturges. She is currently showing her work at the Sloan Miyasato Gallery in San Francisco, California. She has completed two books entitled The Fifth Sister and No.
