Carol Tanenbaum

The wheat, which is golden, will remind me of you. And I’ll love the sound of the wind in the wheat...
~Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince

Having grown up in New York City, the arts became an essential part of Carol Tanenbaum's life at an early age. Traveling uptown to Carnegie Hall for her weekly clarinet lesson, placed her squarely at the center of the New York arts scene, a place which provided her with the mirror she has used to view the world.

Following a 35-year career in the public and nonprofit sectors, including a stint as an arts administrator, Carol found the arts as a maker in addition to being a viewer and appreciator.   Her ceramic wall pieces, called Botanical Impressions, are inspired by and a celebration of nature. They reveal the graceful arc of plants collected near Yosemite and in her own back yard.

Carol is currently teaching workshops in paper bead making at Ethnic Arts in Berkley, Studio One and Blue Door Beads in Oakland.
